About Isabelle
From Scholarship Student to Award-Winning Designer
My journey into fashion began with a Lee Alexander McQueen scholarship to study Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University. Even as a student, I knew I wanted to create something different – something that celebrated colour, culture, and conscious design.
After winning Emerging Designer of the Year at the Midlands Fashion Awards in 2019, I pursued my passion for textile design with an MA at Manchester School of Art, specialising in print design and sustainability. This led to an extraordinary opportunity: joining The King's Foundation's Modern Artisan programme, where I worked alongside seven other young creatives to design collections inspired by the gardens at Highgrove House, sold globally on Net-A-Porter and YOOX.
Caribbean Heritage, British Craftsmanship
My design aesthetic is deeply rooted in my Caribbean heritage, my grandparents' journey from St. Kitts and Nevis to the UK in the 1950s shapes everything I create. I draw inspiration from old family photographs, the vibrant flora of the Caribbean, and the rich tapestry of Caribbean culture, translating these influences into contemporary womenswear.
Every print you see is hand-painted by me in my North West studio. I start by draping on the mannequin to perfect the silhouette, then spend days painting and sketching until the perfect design emerges. Each collection tells a story, not bound by seasons, but by the emotions and memories that inspire me.
Recognition & Awards
In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Young Entrepreneur Award at the inaugural King's Foundation Awards at St. James's Palace and I have now been named on their 35 under 35 list an incredible validation of my commitment to ethical fashion. I've also been featured as one of Drapers' 30 Under 30 and selected for the prestigious ASOS scaleUP programme.
My work has been featured in British Vogue, Vogue Italia, and my collections have been showcased at events like Graduate Fashion Week.
Based in Manchester, and from rural cheshire I believe fashion should empower, inspire, and respect both the people who make it and the planet we call home.
